OzHarvest is a leading food rescue organisation on a mission to ‘Nourish our Country’ by stopping good food from going to waste and delivering it to charities that help feed people in need. Through our education programs and our advocacy work, we hope to inspire others to change behaviour and help reach the national target of halving food waste by 2030.
We are thrilled to launch operations in Tasmania, beginning in Launceston! We are on the look-out for confident and friendly drivers that are passionate about the community and sustainability, to help OzHarvest on a part time basis (2-3 shifts per week).
As a food rescue driver, you will spend the workday in our bright yellow van, collecting and redistributing good quality surplus food and delivering it to the various charities we serve around Launceston, with a smile and compassion. As we expand, we aim to bring the OzHarvest model to Hobart and beyond, reaching more Tasmanians who need our support.

Our vans and trucks require a car licence only (no truck licence needed). Our onboarding process includes training on our safety systems, food rescue processes, and includes buddy shifts to get you ready for solo shifts. Our logistics team provides ongoing support in real time to help navigate each day’s food rescue run.
If you have experience driving and are seeking a role where you can make an immediate difference for people and planet, we need you!
Please follow through the online application process and attach your CV, a cover letter, and include a message as to “Why would you like to work at OzHarvest?” (creativity encouraged!)
Please note that only applications with a cover letter addressing the question above will be shortlisted.
OzHarvest is proud to be an equal opportunity employer that supports diversity, inclusion and belonging. Please note: If you have a Language or Cultural special consideration, a disability or impairment or use assistive technology, please let us know in your Cover Letter when applying. You can ask a support person to help you through the application and interview process.
Applications for this role will take you to the employer’s site.
