OzHarvest runs a no-barrier-to-access free food market in Waterloo. We are looking for a Market Guest Liaison to support our team and ensure a positive and safe guest experience.

Role Overview

The Guest Liaison will collaborate with the Market Supervisor, Community Workers, State Manager, Head of Operations, OzHarvest drivers, volunteers, and external stakeholders. You will manage the Market Membership system and be the first point of contact for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Care:

• Provide excellent service and care to all guests.
• Welcome and sign in guests using the Market Membership System.
• Collect and report data on guest visits.
• Understand the needs of diverse and vulnerable groups.
• Prevent and de-escalate challenging situations.
• Identify guests needing basic mental health first aid or social work services.

Risk Management:

• Ensure the safety of staff, volunteers, and guests.
• Identify and mitigate risks.
• Apply our safety framework, including incident management.
• Perform administrative tasks to ensure smooth market operations.

Positions Available

2 part-time roles (contracted until December 2025)

Role 1: 2 days per week

Role 2: 3 days per week

Working hours: 9:30 am - 3:30 pm

We will conduct interviews for these positions in January, 2025 with the role ideally starting in late January / early February 2025.
