Carrie’s Place provides domestic and family violence and homelessness services to vulnerable people in the Maitland, Port Stephens, Cessnock, Dungog, and Upper Hunter Valley regions. The team at Carrie’s Place is excited by the future and the many ways in which they can positively impact the lives of their clients. The primary purpose of this role is to uphold the Organisation’s vision by supporting zero tolerance towards violence and homelessness.
Reporting to the Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service (WDVCAS) Program Manager, the DFV Specialist Worker exercises a high level of responsibility across the WDVCAS Program area and collaborates closely with the Safety Action Meeting Coordinator.
Duties Include:
The successful candidate will be a team player, an excellent communicator, with a commitment to feminist philosophy, social justice, and human rights. You will value ongoing reflection and review of your practice and be proactive in gaining the skills and knowledge to provide appropriate and current evidence-based support to clients.

This role requires a current Working with Children Check, relevant NSW Police Force check, COVID Vaccination Certificate, and current unrestricted Driver’s Licence.
Please note this role is designated for a female under section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act.
The position is offered at SCHADS Level 5.1 and has the benefit of a 9-day fortnight (70 hour working fortnight). As Carrie’s Place is a not-for-profit this position also has the benefit of salary sacrificing up to $15,900, increasing the overall salary package. 5 weeks annual leave and personal wellbeing allowance is also on offer.
