Spring has sprung! And so has an exciting opportunity at Plan International Australia! The charity for girls’ equality has a 12-month fixed term contract position available as a Campaign Project Lead for the Gender Compass project starting as soon as possible.
The Gender Compass project is unique segmentation research and analysis (initially based on data gathered via 2,522 Australians aged 16 years and over in mid-2023), that defines six segments within the population that differ primarily in their attitudes toward gender equality. For the first time, this provides an opportunity to understand and communicate with different parts of the Australian public about gender equality, to support more targeted and effective actions.

The Campaign Project Lead (Gender Compass) will join the Communications team at an exciting time. Phase 2 of the project has commenced, and more research is being undertaken to better understand the segments, which will inform the development of communication tools. The role will be reasonable for the following:
Our office is in Southbank. We’re looking for someone who can undertake some of their work here, and some of their work at home.

The ideal candidate for the role will possess a strong understanding of gender issues, intersectionality, and social justice. You may have a background in social sciences campaigning, public policy, or a related field, with experience in communications, data analysis, and project management. Excellent organisational skills are crucial, as you will be managing timelines and a range of project outcomes. Strong communication skills are essential to effectively engage stakeholders, present findings, design communication tools and advocate for gender equality campaigns. Additionally, the ideal candidate should demonstrate a collaborative spirit and a passion for driving meaningful social change.

This is a 0.8 FTE part time, 12-month fixed term role.
The pay will align to Level 5 of the - Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award [MA000100]. Hourly pay rate between $ 49.28 to $51.51 per hour.
We are looking for someone to begin in the role as soon as possible, however, can be flexible on start time for the right person.
