About the role

Reporting to a knowledgeable and accomplished Organisational Services Lead who is highly experienced in HR, you will be trusted to provide full generalist HR support partnering with managers across the organisation, overseeing the development and delivery of learning and development activities in line with the Strategic and Organisational Operational Plan. This role is pivotal in contributing to employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and support the People and Learning Team to provide human resource advice, support and learning development
  • Build management capability with leaders to internally manage People and Learning functions
  • Develop, implement, monitor, review and evaluate People and Learning strategies and policies
  • Ensure key function areas of People and Learning operate effectively. This includes Recruitment, Learning and Development, Employee Wellbeing and Safety
  • Plan and monitor the training needs of the organisation
  • You will have oversight of HR functions that include onboarding, orientation and exits
  • Oversee all performance management activities
  • Ensure organisational employee health and wellbeing strategies are not only developed but effectively implemented

Skills & Experience required

  • Relevant qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in a generalist HR position, providing advice and support at a management level
  • Some leadership experience would be highly desirable - as you will be working closely with Managers to deal with complex people issues, this role also has two direct reports
  • Flexible approach - someone who can be agile and adapt to managers' different working styles and needs, you have an innate ability to 'read the room'
  • A solid understanding of workplace legislation
  • Demonstrated commitment to cultural diversity and inclusivity
  • High degree of emotional intelligence - strong self-awareness, self-reflection, empathy, and the ability to handle difficult conversations will be well-regarded in this role
