The Philanthropic Coordinator is responsible for implementing a fundraising strategy to raise $4 million over 4 years for the conservation and preservation of the QVWC heritage listed building, and its social and historical legacy.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Identify opportunities for attracting and retaining major philanthropic donors, and encouraging lifelong relationships between the QVWC and its supporters
  • Build and nurture stakeholder relationships with high profile donors, managing both internal and external relationships with major donors and third parties.
  • Implement agreed community fundraising campaigns, including acquisition and conversions to meet income targets.
  • Develop and maintain stakeholder management plans and associated databases to support gift giving
  • Assist in the development of transactional supports and philanthropic gift documentation in partnership with the Finance Team
  • Manage reputational risk and ensure appropriate approval is given for all activities, including communications activities, associated with the Appeal
  • Working in partnership with the Communications Coordinator, develop a communications plan for the Appeal, and inform brand development and marketing activities.
  • Working closely with the CEO and Communications Coordinator, lead on the coordination of key events associated with the fundraising strategy including invitations, running sheets, media releases, speaking points and stakeholder management
  • Working to a small committee of QVWC Trust members, provide regular reports to the Trust on activities associated with the Appeal and its performance

Inherent Job Requirements

The Philanthropic Coordinator is a part-time position (0.6 FTE). The QVWC supports flexible working arrangements, including working from home arrangements.

  • Mission-driven with a commitment and passion for gender equality and for profiling and preserving Victoria’s important feminist legacy
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Experience in fundraising and philanthropy, especially major gift giving
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills
  • Event hosting and coordination
  • Excellent communications and stakeholder management capability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Resourceful, positive, flexible, and well-organised
  • Demonstrated capacity to problem solve, work autonomously and as a member of a high performing team
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity to the needs of people who identify as women or non-binary people and from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • High level of competence in Microsoft Office or similar suite of software

Desirable Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in not-for-profit, advocacy and/or government agency
  • Relevant experience working in a fundraising and/or revenue generation capacity

Terms and Conditions

  • Salary is $84,166 ($50,499 pro-rata at 0.6FTE) + 11% superannuation (11.5% from 1 July 2024) + 5 weeks annual leave (pro-rata for part-time employees)
