The Queen Victoria Women Centre is a special place where all women and gender diverse people are welcomed, valued and celebrated and have the power to determine their present and future. Our iconic building in the heart of Melbourne houses several organisations supporting women as well as our unique QVWC Shop!, supporting women makers and entrepreneurs.
The Centre has four public venues and supports an annual program of exciting events and festivals, including our gallery, promoting gender equality and celebrating women and gender diverse people.
The Program & Venues Coordinator is a full-time position responsible for coordinating our public venues and annual events program. The role is responsible for developing strategies and building partnerships to maximise the use of our venues and to deliver a program of events that supports the Centre's strategic priorities. It involves oversight of an annual budget and revenue targets with support from our Finance Manager and ensures compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, including OH&S. Providing excellent client support, the role builds direct relationships with key stakeholders. It is also responsible for the supervision of the Venues Assistant and a team of casuals. You are creative, passionate about gender equality and experienced in programming and events coordination. You bring to the role a client centric mind set and a capacity to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders. You have a cultural sensitivity to the needs of gender diverse people and people from diverse cultural backgrounds and are a problem solver who's calm under pressure. You enjoy working collaboratively in a small, energetic team and don't mind working irregular hours if required. You have project and budget management experience. You get excited by working with community groups, festival partners, and individuals and engaging people in new and exciting activities.
