The Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Access and Inclusion manager to join our team!

Located within Access, Wellbeing and Equity, the Access and Inclusion team offers a variety of support services to ensure access, transition and success for students with disabilities and health conditions across all of Murdoch University campuses. This involves identifying and implementing individual accommodations, reasonable adjustments to student's courses, and leading the development and implementation of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) into pedagogy and work integrated learning.

As the Access and Inclusion Manager you will lead the team in delivering support through contemporary, student-centred practices. This includes promoting Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and addressing the diverse needs of postsecondary students especially those with neurodiverse conditions. Our approach is unique, emphasising student's strength and equipping them with innovative tools and strategies for life beyond university. We focus on the core principles of ULD, Technology and career planning to prepare students for future success.

What you'll bring to this role

  • Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field, and/or, management expertise with a primary focus on improving outcomes for persons with a disability or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Knowledge and an understanding of the issues relating to people with disability and health conditions, accessibility and equal opportunity as they relate to the higher education sector.
  • Experience in policy development, implementation and evaluation in relation to persons with a disability.
  • Ability to support a culture of change in learning and teaching proactive in reference to UDL, with an understanding of change processes and delivery of quality outcomes.
  • An understanding of application of Federal and State anti-discrimination and equal opportunity legislation in a Higher Education context.
