Your Next Role!
The Way Back Support Service is an aftercare suicide prevention program, and the Support Coordinator is responsible for providing short term non-clinical support coordination services.
This role is both challenging and highly rewarding. As a Support Coordinator, you will:
- Integrate and collaborate with existing services to enhance the immediacy of follow-up responses for individuals at high risk of suicide or those who have recently attempted suicide, in line with RFQ’s Models of Practice.
- Work alongside all RFQ staff to cultivate a culture that values lived experience, fosters genuine and open relationships, and promotes conflict resolution, self-responsibility, mutual respect, and personal growth.
- Our support values include empowerment, trust, compassion, resilience, diversity, integrity, and lifelong learning. Please note, this role requires being on call.
You will need:
- Diploma or Certificate 4 in Community Services or related discipline and/or significant demonstrated experience working with people with mental illness and/or people who are experiencing ideation/crisis.
- Understanding of suicidal behaviours, suicidal crisis/ideation and its effects on individuals, families and the whole community.
- Ability to develop and implement support plans with clients.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and contribute positively and constructively to achieve the organisation's objectives.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills including the ability to advocate for clients and the organisation, and make accurate and timely written records.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, manage, and work to achieve team and individual priorities and capacities.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a registered roadworthy and insured vehicle (minimum third-party property).
