About the role..

Join our dedicated team as a Psychologist and make a meaningful impact across our Inpatient, Day Program, and Outpatient services! As a key member of the Allied Health Department, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality Psychology services to our patients. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team and participate in our Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) programs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To provide high quality, evidence-based Psychology services to patients across the RRPP service, including inpatients, Day Program patients and fee-paying/NDIS patients.
  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments for patients and their family/carers who are referred for Psychology input.
  • Educate patients, families, carers and other team members on the emotional consequence of illness.
  • Provide Psychology supports to staff on request in liaison with management.
  • Liaise with referrers regarding patient progress.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure that the patient receives an integrated service that meets their needs.
  • Contribute to clinical discussions and goal setting at case conferences, goal setting meetings and family conferences; chair meetings as required.
  • Develop, document, and implement an appropriate client rehabilitation and discharge plan in consultation with patients, their family/carers and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Operate effectively with minimal direct clinical supervision (dependent on level).

About you..

We are seeking a self-motivated and friendly individual with:

Essential criteria:

  • Masters Degree in Psychology with minimum 12 months postgraduate experience.
  • Current AHPRA registration.
  • Eligibility for membership with the Australian Psychological Society.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Sound time management and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and professional growth and development.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience working within a private hospital or rehabilitation setting.
  • Experience working with adults with physical or cognitive disability.
  • Experience with staff and/or student supervision.
