The Senior Employee Relations Advisor plays an important role in delivering on our vision of a better world for children. Whether it's ensuring SCA has a robust set of processes, tools and templates to manage ER matters, or advising on complex ER matters enterprise wide, you'll be contributing to our commitment to children in Australia, the Pacific and around the world.

You will make a difference by:

  • Coaching leaders to manage and resolve ER matters expediently and with due process, enabling a culture of accountability and high performance
  • Leading the review, revision and implementation of SCA's key employee relations policies and procedures to ensure they align with legal requirements and best practices 
  • Training and developing leaders in best practice ER processes 
  • Ensuring SCA's ER tools, templates and processes comply with Australian and Pacific industrial relations legislation 
  • Reviewing and refining key ER tools and templates for use by the People and Culture team and Line Leaders,
  • Reviewing and ensuring the P&C operating model has the right response frameworks for ER matters
  • Managing Fair Work Commission matters
  • Supporting the review and go-forward approach to SCA's Industrial Instruments
  • Developing leader resources and references to enable leader-led interpretation of Award, EA and Fair work provisions

Your deep expertise in employee / industrial relations is invaluable. Ideally, this means you will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law, or a related field (a postgraduate qualification or professional certification in industrial relations is advantageous).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial relations or a related field, preferably within a Community Services organisation with geographically dispersed and diverse workforce.
  • In-depth understanding of Australian industrial relations laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Experience working in remote communities and cultural expertise with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforces
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, and the demonstrated ability to manage sensitive issues with discretion and integrity.
