The Keeping Women out of Prison Coalition is a Sub Fund of the Sydney Community Foundation. The KWOOP Coalition works to break the cycles of intergenerational disadvantage and incarceration experienced by women in the justice system.
The KWOOP Coordinator will work with the CEO of the Sydney Community Foundation (SCF) and the KWOOP Executive Committee to:
- Assess and report on the current projects
- In accordance with the stakeholder management plan for the Arrest to Release project, clarify project timelines and facilitate project milestones
- Develop, in consultation with KWOOP Executive , a project plan for the Community of Practice (CoP) including project timeline, milestones and methodology for implementation
- Develop and grow the CoP and provide progress and outcome reports quarterly to the KWOOP Executive and funder
- With KWOOP Executive Members and participants in the CoP, write up the development of and lessons from the CoP and report same to relevant NSW government Ministers, departments and the KWOOP membership
- Together with designated KWOOP members, implement milestones occurring within contracted period including Parliamentary Roundtable and Parliamentary Breakfast.
- Coordinate all KWOOP meetings, draw up agendas and manage effective communications
- Advise Sydney Community Foundation and KWOOP Executive on staffing structure to best meet requirements of projects as agreed with funders.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Essential:
- Thorough understanding of the issues faced by women in the NSW criminal justice system.
- Experience in using web-based software.
- Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Commitment to teamwork and to the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to provide and maintain quality service and portray a professional image.
- Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Desirable:
- Experience working within ‘not for profit’ sector.
- Experience with managing multiple relationships and conflicting deadlines.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure SCF and KWOOP Executive are kept informed of progress on Arrest to Release and Community of Practice projects.
- Ensure projects are established in line with strategies agreed with funding bodies.
- Implement milestones as relevant within the contract period.
- Provide secretariat for KWOOP, both Executive and Management Committee including minutes, agendas and meeting scheduling. Manage the regular meeting schedules of KWOOP Executive and KWOOP Committee.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
- Part-time contract role - 22.5 hours per week.
