The Anti-Violence Worker (Community) primarily provides trauma-informed support for women and girls following release from Townsville Women’s Correctional Centre (TWCC) and Cleveland Youth Detention Centre (CYDC).

Most of the work is with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women in Townsville who have experienced domestic, family and/or sexual violence.

The worker provides continuity of support post-release, to help women recover from the trauma of past violence and imprisonment.
