Ideally, you have:
What we offer in return is a chance to join the Small Giants community, to work in a location of unparalleled beauty, and a salary that fairly reflects your skills and experience.
To apply, please send a résumé and cover letter directly to the property’s overseer Samuel.
Prior to COVID and a deep rest period, Mossy Willow Farm was a highly productive 2-acre market garden, inspired by the likes of Jean Martin Fortier, Singing Frogs Farm, Richard Perkins, and many others dedicated to this style of farming and production. This high intensity and abundant operation produced over $300K in annual sales of flowers and vegetable varieties under no-till and organic growing principles. The production area includes a seedling greenhouse, 2 large polytunnels and ancillary caterpillar tunnels. The market garden seasonally employed 3-4 staff and regularly hosted interns. The barn door / shop was stocked with produce and products from the farm which were also sold through local restaurants, farmers markets, and grocers. We also have some peripheral activities including honey, eggs, and fruit orchards as well as some sheep and goats roaming around!
While it will take time, we hope to see Mossy Willow as a fully functioning market garden and barn door again. Joining us in this role will help us take huge steps towards this.
