The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education.

We are seeking an experienced Project Officer, Volunteer Engagement. Reporting to the Team Leader, Volunteer Engagement and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, this role will work closely with internal stakeholders to provide project management and support to manage volunteering projects within a functional plan.

About our role

You will be responsible for:

  • Work with Volunteering leadership team members to identify project requirements.
  • Keep track of project’s progress and ensure completion by the deadline.
  • Create a high-level project management calendar to ensure internal stakeholders have sight of outcomes and individual project elements.
  • Outline process maps or support the creation of Volunteering team resources.
  • Produce user testing documentation in collaboration with other Volunteering team members to ensure resources are validated with our customers.

About you

As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in human resources, teaching, communications, or social and community services
  • Experience in facilitating training or presenting to various groups
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent ability to establish and maintain internal and external networks and relationships
  • Highly flexible and adaptable
