ABOUT THE JOB

  • Currently classified as SAC Award (WA) Level 9.1.
  • Part time or Full Time role negotiable.

Reporting to the CEO, the People & Business Manager will support SRWA to thrive as a sustainable not-for-profit so we can achieve our strategic goals. You will be responsible for managing the internal operations of SRWA, including human resources, and ensuring the effective administration of business processes. You will support the CEO to develop and implement operational and finance strategies, manage budgets, and ensure our organisation complies with legal and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will help lead efforts to support staff development, maintain positive workplace culture, and maintain relationships with relevant partners and vendors.

This is a new role to support our small but growing not-for-profit organisation, which currently employs 8 staff. Applicants with a desire for agency over your work, and to work in a highly collaborative, values based team are strongly encouraged.

An existing knowledge of SRWA and a passion for justice reform and racial and social equality, and experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are highly welcome.

WHO WE ARE

Social Reinvestment WA is a member based peak not for profit organisation, led by an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander majority Board. We aim to end the mass criminalisation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Western Australia’s justice and legal systems; and to create a fair, humane, and more truly just Western Australia for all people.

  • Education, communications, and advocacy to decision-makers and the wider public to inform, reduce discrimination, uphold human rights, and increase support for evidence-based reforms to community safety and justice;
  • Community development and provision of direct and indirect support to communities to create, lead, and sustain local justice reinvestment solutions; That increase Self Determination and alleviate poverty, disadvantage, and place-based causes of crime, improving equity and equality in Australia;
  • Creation of collaboration and capacity building mechanisms to connect key stakeholders, and improve development and implementation of solutions that will alleviate poverty, disadvantage, and the social determinants of crime; and improve cultural, social, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Development of evidence-based policy, research, and smart solutions that can systemically improve outcomes across the justice system;
  • Building and maintaining a strong movement and adequate resources to support and sustain effective positive change for the long term.
