ABOUT THE ROLE

You will report to the CEO and will work with a small finance team to achieve agreed outcomes. Your primary responsibilities will be:

  • Overseeing the accounting and functions and preparation of accurate, timely, and transparent financial statements and acquittals compliant with all legislative requirements and standards
  • Providing timely financial advice and analysis to the Board of Directors and CEO on all strategic and operational aspects of financial management
  • Overseeing employee payroll including ATO and Award compliance, PAYG, BAS, IAS, FBT, Superannuation
  • Leading collaborative financial planning processes for the business and ensuring effective planning cycles are aligned with the strategic direction of the Foundation
  • Implementing robust financial and corporate management systems to increase organisational efficiency, accountability, transparency and decision-making
  • Maximising Stars’ financial strength through effective cash flow management and appropriate investment strategies
  • Coordinating annual external audits, and managing the External Auditor relationship to ensure all statutory and financial governance requirements are met

ABOUT YOU

You are the right person for this role if you have:

  • Prior experience in a similar role
  • Degree qualified with CPA/CA qualifications
  • Payroll experience
  • Experience with cloud-based accounting software, preferably Xero
  • Strong all-round reporting skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • High level verbal and written communication skills, with fluent written and spoken English
  • A passion for (and/or experience with) working with and improving outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • Ability to embrace and work effectively with a culturally diverse workforce.

Candidates must be willing to obtain a current, satisfactory National Police Clearance Certificate and a working with children check
