Employment Consultant - DES

The Role:

We are currently looking to recruit an Employment Consultant for our Disability Employment Services (DES) contract located at our Mandurah site to cover a period of maternity leave. The Employment Consultant DES is responsible for engaging, facilitating and empowering a caseload of Participants who may have multiple and complex personal and vocational barriers to employment, including a range of physical and mental health issues. This role involves guiding Participants to develop appropriate skills and attributes to improve their employment prospects and gain meaningful employment. 

What we are looking for:

  • You will possess an empathetic approach and be able to build trust and rapport with Participants who may be experiencing mental health issues. 
  • Similar experience in employment services or similar in a case management role that focuses on assisting Participants into employment or further education, desirable but not essential
  • Ability to engage Participants with a disability and focus them on obtaining paid employment
  • Ability to market clients to employers to gain sustainable employment outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to meet KPI’s is highly desirable  

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • An understanding of the role of labour market experiences and vocational training in preparing Participants for education and employment
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • High level of communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Strong positive problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office, Outlook, internet, and database systems
