The role

We are GROWING! Due to our success in winning business delivering the SEE Program in Adelaide we are really excited to offer this new opportunity to establish the role of Participant Support Officer (RTO). If successful you will join a very well-established employment and training provider delivering services in the Northern and Southern regions of Adelaide. This role will allow you to focus your attention on Participants who are undertaking education and training within the Adelaide region. 

The role of Participant Support Officer (RTO) has been developed to provide our Participants with mentoring and support through the development of positive relationships. This support role supports Participants to build their capacity to learn, complete education and strengthen pathways to further education and participation in the community. You will work alongside trainers to ensure the supports provided are individualised, meet tailored goals plans and facilitate positive future outcomes.

The positive relationships you build with our Participants will provide effective and efficient results to ensure challenges and opportunities are identified and supported.  The role requires advanced communication, sound lateral thinking along with a strong focus on supporting Participants to strengthen their commitment to completing education which moves them towards further education or employment. 

 To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • A solid understanding of issues faced by those most disadvantaged in the community  
  • Exceptional ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • An ability to support both Participants and trainers towards sustainable, long-term outcomes
  • A driver’s license is essential
  • Developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with a strong emphasis on engaging people from all walks of life
  • Excellent organisational, administration and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated experience in a fast paced, outcome focused environment 
  • Qualifications in Community Services, Youth Work, Behavioural and Social Work an advantage and desirable.

  • A strong commitment to the valuable role that education plays in assisting diverse people to participate in society and upskill for employment 
  • The ability to work with a diverse range of learners and educators
  • The ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience training and assessing through online platforms and a Learner Management System
