The role:

Due to the ongoing growth and success of our Transition to Work (TtW) contract, we currently have an exciting opportunity to appoint a passionate Post Placement Support Mentor: TtW to join an established and successful employment and training provider based at our Mirrabooka site with focus on supporting our youth Participants across the Perth Northern region. You will join our established team delivering services to young people within the Transition to Work program!

This role will allow you to build and develop positive relationships with our Participants who are either engaged in employment or training. In addition, you would also meet with employers and training institutions, either in the specific workplace or training locations to assess and consider additional interventions that will encourage Participant engagement and therefore maximise sustainable outcomes. 

The positive relationships you build will enable you to provide effective Post Placement Support contact to Participants to ensure any workplace/school challenges are identified and remedied early. The Post Placement Support Mentor: TtW is strong on building relationships, has sound lateral thinking along with a strong focus on supporting young people to strengthen their engagement in education and employment.

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • A solid understanding of issues faced by young people  
  • Exceptional ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • An ability to support both Participants (workers) and employers/ educators towards sustainable, long-term employment outcomes
  • A driver’s licence is essential
  • Developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with a strong emphasis on engaging young people
  • Excellent organisational, administration and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated experience in a fast paced, outcome focussed environment 
  • Qualifications in Employment Services, Youth Work, Training, Human Resource Management or Behavioural Sciences an advantage but not essential.
  • Relevant experience in the Employment Services or similar industry (highly desirable)
