An exciting opportunity has become available for a Work Placement Officer to join the vibrant and motivated Education and Training team at their beautiful Caloundra Campus.

The Position

Coordinate work placements for students enrolled in Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care/Disability), contributing to the overall effectiveness and compliance of the RTO whilst also delivering to the needs of local communities and the Community Services industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, build and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with employers to deliver work placement opportunities for students to complete course requirements
  • Coordinate and complete all paperwork and administrative duties related to student placement
  • Engage with employers to ensure a collaborative approach to the learning experience
  • Ensure desired student numbers, attendance targets and work placement participation is achieved as set out in the contract
  • Provide employers with information on the course, dates, duration, cost and location, as well as negotiate timeframes and identify appropriate tasks for work placement
  • Assist the student to prepare for placement, ensuring full understanding of the work placement requirements, fulfilment of any industry specific requirements and providing pre-placement documentation

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven ability to build rapport and establish relationships and networks
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the achievement of work placement outcomes and high levels of student participation, retention and completion rates
  • Demonstrated experience in contributing to continuous quality improvement processes and outcomes
  • Must have an effective and flexible style that delivers positive outcomes across disadvantaged and culturally diverse clients

Applicants must have a current Driver Licence and have the ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.
