The Role

Currently recruiting 4 part-time roles ranging from 22-29 hours per week. The DVRE Case Worker will provide intensive, short term case work support to women and their children who are experiencing trauma and homelessness due to domestic violence. The role is responsible for:

  • Conducting initial intakes and assessments to identify the immediate needs of the client
  • Working closely with the client in crisis response and developing goal-oriented case plans that that address identified goals in limited time frame,
  • Referral of clients to appropriate internal and external services,provide emotional support, information and practical assistance to promote their safety, independence and empowerment.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records and case notes
  • Work collaborative with a number of sector partners and as a team

  • Requires travel and flexibility to work outside of normal business hours and work weekends
  • Qualification/s in Social Work/Social Science/Community Welfare or other relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • Possess good written/oral communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Sound knowledge of a range of drug and alcohol, mental health, income support services, child protection issues, legislation and requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a caseload and case planning, including people with complex and/or high-level needs,
  • a valid NSW driver licence.
