The Benevolent Society is seeking expressions of interest for the Director Capability and Culture:

  • Full-time role ideally based in one of our corporate hubs, but flexible across NSW, QLD & SA
  • Salary $220,000 - $260,000 TRP plus Salary Packaging and competitive Employee Benefits

About the role

As Director of Capability and Culture at Benevolent, you'll spearhead transformative initiatives, enhancing our Learning & Development framework and fostering a vibrant, inclusive Workplace Culture. You will drive culturally aligned programs, promoting leadership, transparency, and diversity, including support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander priorities. You'll lead a dynamic learning culture, ensuring skills development aligns with strategic objectives and secures genuine stakeholder engagement for impactful organisational growth.

You will benefit from the ability to achieve great outcomes through the alignment of this roles functions to Benevolent's organisational strategy and business plan, through having the resources to achieve the desired outcomes and the genuine partnership and engagement from key stakeholders including senior executives and line management.

Essential criteria

  • A degree in a relevant field, for example adult education, business, human resources or similar.
  • Experience developing organisation-wide capability and culture strategy, frameworks and plans to meet business needs across multiple operational business units.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering learning and development solutions, on time, on budget, that delight the client.
  • Experience managing and leading inclusion and diversity programs which deliver outcomes to the culture of an organisation.
  • Experience leading a high performing, engaged team of professionals to deliver organisational capability and culture solutions that meet business needs.
  • Experience developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships at industry level and across the sector.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders in the business to deliver effective culture, learning and organisational development outcomes.
  • A sense of creativity and innovation to identify and develop solutions that clients may not have considered or are not expected.

Key attributes

  • Experience in a community services or not for profit organisation would be an advantage.
  • A master’s degree in adult learning, business or similar is desirable.
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or registration as a clinician in providing care or services to vulnerable people is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a team across geographical areas and operational disciplines.
  • Developing and delivering on strategic and operational organisational development activities across a operationally and geographically diverse organisation.
