Role Summary

As an integral part of our small, collaborative team, The Senior Management Accountant at EQI will ensure the accuracy, analysis, and reporting of our financial activities to enable effective decision-making. Working closely with our Co-CEO and management team, you will optimise systems and processes, providing specialised financial support across the organisation.

You will lead our annual budgeting process, ensuring meticulous quarterly re-forecasting and accurate cash flow forecasting. Your expertise will shine as you produce timely and precise monthly management reports, providing insightful financial summaries and variance analyses.

Your responsibilities will include managing diverse, and sometimes complex, project financials, budgeting, and compliance obligations, overseeing client invoicing, managing grant financial acquittals, and preparing project budgets. You will be instrumental in implementing enhanced internal control policies to manage risk and ensure compliance.

Your contribution will provide crucial support to EQI’s Strategic Plan and organisational goals, enabling effective decision-making and fostering financially sustainable and robust systems that underpins our global efforts to end violence against women and girls.

Who you are (essential)

  • You have a relevant Business/Finance degree and are a qualified CA or CPA.
  • You are an expert in forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis, with in-depth knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
  • You are proficient in advanced Excel and accounting systems (Xero).
  • You are a seasoned Management Accountant with a minimum of 4 years' experience in a similar role.
  • You thrive in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment and enjoy streamlining processes and upskilling others.
  • You have expert attention to detail.
  • You have excellent communication skills and a growth mindset to support and assess new initiatives.
  • You can build relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders to drive impactful change.
  • You have a thorough understanding of managing project financials, business risk, contracts, and compliance.

Who you might be (desirable but not essential)

  • Experience in grant acquittal and project cost recovery
  • Not-for profit or Social Purpose familiarity
  • Financial reporting on Social Impact
  • Sector knowledge or understanding
  • Prior experience managing Audit process
