About us

Thorne Harbour Health (THH) is an LGBTIQ+ community-controlled health organisation, governed by our members, and working for the communities we serve. Combining passion, commitment, and activism, THH aims to improve the health, social and emotional well-being of LGBTIQ+ communities and those living with, or affected by, HIV. THH is Australia’s oldest LGBTIQ+ and HIV organisation, having celebrated its 41st anniversary in 2024. THH operates in Victoria and South Australia.

Our Health Promotion & Community Engagement (HPCE) program delivers a range of preventative and health promotion community engagement initiatives and activities aimed at improving the health outcomes of LGBTIQ+ communities. The framework of the HPCE is a combination of adult learning, peer education, health promotion, social marketing, community development, and cultural intervention.

About the role

Working alongside the Women’s Health Lead, the Health Educator will be responsible for undertaking a range of activities aimed at improving the health and wellbeing outcomes for LGBTIQ+ women in Victoria, such as content creation, hosting workshops and forums, working on the creation of an online women’s health hub. A strong background in LGBTIQ+ women’s health, written communication and community engagement are required for this role.
