  • Full-time Monday to Friday, 76 hours per fortnight.
  • ACT Community Sector MEA Level 7 - $110,000 - $115,537 per annum, plus super and salary packaging.

Toora Women Inc. supports women with complex issues who have experienced past or present trauma, such as:

  • Domestic, family and sexual violence.
  • Mental health issues.
  • Drug or alcohol dependency.
  • Homelessness or needing support to stay out of the homelessness system.
  • Time in ACT Corrections.

Our current domestic violence, homelessness and AOD health treatment programs range across a variety of settings, such as, crisis, transitional and head tenancy accommodation, day programs, counselling and outreach support. This allows Toora to provide wrap-around trauma-informed care within an integrated service system. We deliver these complex services within a human rights and gendered framework.

ABOUT THIS POSITION

The Team Leader will assist and support the team members in their day to day activities and ensure quality outcomes in direct service delivery. She will ensure the provision of safe and secure crisis, transitional accommodation and outreach support, comprehensive case management, information, referral and advocacy services, practical, emotional and other relevant support, to address key areas of client’s health and other needs. Team leader will assist clients to develop critical analysis of their circumstances and to achieve change in their interpersonal environment and broad social condition

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide day to day direction and support of designated staff, debrief and monitor work performance.
  • Ensure work practices are reviewed regularly and quality improvements are implemented to enhance effectiveness
  • Provide regular individual supervision and client review meetings, general support and debriefing for staff.
  • Ensure team members are meeting required standards in case notes, report writing, data collection and service evaluation.
  • Ensure that the service operates within the organisational and service policies and procedures with particular focus on professional boundaries and reducing the risks of vicarious trauma
  • Assist Manager to determine service clinical priorities, organise work tasks, delegate caseload and coordinate programs with initiative, flexibility and creativity, as required.
  • Oversee collaborations with other internal and external services regarding case management ensuring best outcomes for the client.
  • Provide crisis, transitional and outreach support to women who are accessing TDVHS within a case management framework, including developing case management plans.
  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate women’s groups and projects, including budgeting and allocation of resources, as directed.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE :

  • Experience with working with homeless women with high and complex needs, particularly with alcohol and drug dependencies, mental health concerns, sexual assault, domestic violence, incarceration, and women from diverse backgrounds.
  • Bachelor level qualification in relevant fields Social Work, Social Science, Health or Psychology and minimum 3 years sector experience; OR
  • Diploma in relevant field (eg. Community Services, AOD or Mental Health) and minimum 5 years sector experience.
  • High level service delivery skills in trauma informed case management within a feminist framework
  • Possess a valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration and a satisfactory National Police Check.
  • Possess a current driver’s license and be willing to drive.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

  • Strategic thinking, diplomacy and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office applications and SHIP.
  • Human resource management skills: experience in supervision of employees, work performance management, conflict resolution, debriefing and crisis management.
