Transgender Victoria (TGV) is Victoria’s leading body for transgender, gender diverse, and non-binary direct support and advocacy. We work to achieve justice, equity and inclusive service provision for transgender, gender diverse, and non-binary people, their partners, families and friends.

As part of TGV you’ll have the opportunity to work directly with trans and gender diverse young people from across Victoria, and empower them to affirm themselves socially and in relation to the socio-medical systems that they wish to navigate.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Affirmation Station Shop Supervisor at Transgender Victoria will play a pivotal role in strengthening the organisation's presence, influence, and financial sustainability. This is far from your average retail role; the ideal candidate will be a community-minded communicator and fashion-savvy merchandiser who can take the lead in our exciting and one-of-a-kind community lounge, op shop, and social affirmation space.

  • Show a high degree of professionalism and understanding of boundaries between work and social life
  • Have lived experience as a trans or gender diverse person

  • Have an understanding of the structure and functioning of TGV
  • Are experienced in retail management
  • Are passionate about creating comfortable and inclusive community spaces
  • Are a strong communicator who values collaboration

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Achieve shop sales performance goals through the management of the following shop functions:
    • Leading the receipt, sorting, and potential laundering of op shop donations, using a high degree of scrutiny to ensure quality donations
    • Leading the creative merchandising of the Station
    • Financial Management and Reporting
    • WHS and Risk Management
    • Providing excellent customer service
    • Assisting in the packing and sending of online merchandise orders
    • Coordinate finance and banking procedures, ensure regular banking and accurate data entry
  • Build an effective team by leading and managing volunteers (including rostering); identify clear work functions, assign tasks and monitor performance to ensure a high level of customer service is provided
  • Maintain accurate and up to date volunteer and customer records in TGV's customer management systems
  • Undertake regular reviews of the Operations Manual, ensuring all information is accurate
  • Support the growth and operations of TGV's retail presence by engaging in events, pop ups, and cross-organisational gatherings
  • Undertake administrative tasks including compliance with TGV’s policies, procedures, and reporting
