We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our team of dedicated First Response Case Workers to provide a holistic, trauma informed response to the needs of women and children residing in refuge to address issues relating to experiencing and or witnessing domestic and family violence. This role is based in Chermside.
You will work intensively with families to address issues such as, but not limited to, risk and safety concerns, providing practical and emotional support, linking the families with relevant services to meet their needs and supporting the families to obtain safe and sustainable accommodation free from violence.
Due to the inherent requirements of this programs delivery we require female representation from our Supported Accommodation team, as such we are currently looking for a Female Support Worker. To be a female is a genuine requirement for the position under Section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act, 1997
You will have a strong passion for working with women and children in a crisis environment, a thorough knowledge of the impacts of domestic and family violence on women and children, and demonstrated skills in applying this knowledge using a strength-based, trauma-informed framework.
