Apply now for the UnionsACT Paid internship program from 23 November to 4 December 2020. The Anna Stewart Memorial Project internship is open to all women and non-binary people comfortable in a space centring the experiences of women. Applicants must be living or working in the ACT and a financial member of a union or have a history of membership of a union (we support unemployed and underemployed workers too).
UnionsACT is the peak council representing 24 unions and over 33,000 working people, their families and communities. We are dedicated to empowering progressive future feminist leaders to acquire direct experience with and exposure to the union movement's work to build a better future for all, especially working women.
We promote a workplace that actively seeks to include, welcome and value unique contributions and encourage applications from candidates with a disability, culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, LGBTQI+ communities, and first nations candidates.
The internship aims to develop leadership skills, improve awareness of rights at work, provide skills in campaigning for equality, share an understanding of how unions work, give first-hand experience working with various unions in the ACT to learn about and inform our work towards equality through unionism – in the workplace and broader society.
Employed as a paid intern on a casual basis for 30 hours per week (full time) under the relevant EBA, for a 2-week period.
The Anna Stewart Memorial Project internships are open to women or non-binary folk living or working in the ACT who are a financial member of a union or have a history of membership of a union (we support unemployed and underemployed workers too!).
