Role Purpose: 

This role is responsible for supporting the delivery of HR advisory services across all of Uniting. You will be an active and contributing member of the wider People and Culture team.  

Key Responsibilities: 

You will be an integral member of the People and Culture team within the People Experience directorate through the following: 

  • Analysing pertinent research and operational data. 
  • Supporting leaders in evaluating and integrating received information. 
  • Coordinating and maintaining team management systems with regular data updates. 
  • Providing relevant data for budgeting, team operations, and regular reporting. 
  • Conducting specialised studies to offer insights into team and organisational operations. 
  • Promoting and adhering to safe work practices and WHS legislation. 
  • Contributing to a supportive and inclusive work environment that embraces diversity in nationality, cultural background, LGBTIQ+ status, abilities, gender, and age. 

As the HR Advisor, your role specifically will: 

  • Manage cases from start to finish, providing comprehensive support. 
  • Offer consistent HR guidance and coaching to supervisors and leaders, adhering to best practices, legislative guidelines, and Uniting policies. 
  • Compile and assess information and materials from the organisation, drafting correspondence and overseeing performance management and conduct processes. 
  • Aid in enhancing the skills of leaders through the creation of tools and workshops. 
  • Contribute insights to other People Experience or Uniting teams for improvement initiatives. 
  • Implement HR solutions that align with Uniting's strategic objectives. 
  • Support project planning in HR Advisory roles and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. 
  • Assist in building a knowledge bank by developing training resources and capability sessions. 
  • Manage data collection and reporting duties, including monthly reports and trend analysis. 

Qualifications and Experience: 

Qualifications: 

  • A bachelor's or graduate degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience: 

This is a specialist role typically requiring 3 or more years’ experience. This includes management of workplace investigations, and interpretation of Enterprise Agreements and Modern Awards. 

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be organised, systematic, thorough, accurate and disciplined. 

  • Ability to solve complex problems identifying solutions. 
  • Effective team player and networker. 
  • Ability to conduct in-depth data analyses, recognise trends, tie back to business priorities, and develop recommendations for cross-functional groups of stakeholders. 
  • Client-centric mindset and high level of empathy. 
  • Knowledge of HR policies, practices and employment legislation. 
  • Effective time management skills, including the ability to influence others to a desired outcome.
