This is a full-time permanent position (70 hours per fortnight) located in Coffs Harbour NSW. $103,968 starting base salary, plus super, plus access to generous salary packaging options.

About the opportunity:

Uniting is currently seeking an MST-CAN Therapist to join our team in Coffs Harbour NSW. As an MST-CAN Therapist at Uniting, you will deliver therapy using the Multi-Systemic Therapy for Child Abuse and Neglect (MST-CAN) Model. This evidence-based, community focused treatment targets families with children aged 6 to 17 years where ongoing physical abuse and neglect are present.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide home-based clinical treatment and maintain a caseload, adhering to the MST-CAN model.
  • Develop and review family treatment plans, ensuring they address safety risks and referral behaviours.
  • Work collaboratively with MST-CAN model developers, local intermediary agencies, and DCJ.
  • Deliver services within a culturally inclusive framework for Aboriginal and culturally diverse families.
  • Establish and maintain community networks and partnerships with key organisations.
  • Maintain clear documentation and participate in all model program training, supervision and consultation activities.
  • Offer 24/7 coverage on a rotational schedule.

Your Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or a related field, or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with current AHPRA registration.
  • Experience with pragmatic family therapies and understanding of child protection issues.
  • Knowledge of family systems, social ecological theories and cognitive behavioural therapies.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call duties, and to transport families as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal, time- management and crisis-handling skills.
  • Current drivers license
  • Current NSW WWCC
