About the Role:

The Project Manager - Refurbishments is responsible for managing the refurbishment of rooms within our Ageing services and units in Retirement & Independent Living Villages across NSW and the ACT. This role involves working with different regions within Sydney Central, North, and South, requiring occasional travel.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Scoping of vacancies
  • Reviewing quotations for scope of works
  • Recommending quotations for approval
  • Managing project delivery post-approval
  • Closing out refurbishment projects (financial administration and handover documentation)

Additionally, the role involves overseeing minor capital works projects in the Seniors portfolio and engaging external consultants as needed. The Project Manager will ensure compliance with existing contract agreements and lead quarterly KPI meetings with panel contractors in their region.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Project Manager - Refurbishments, you will:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for internal service recipients
  • Raise financial authorisation documents for project commencement
  • Act as the liaison between external project management providers and the organisation
  • Demonstrate adaptability to changing environments and stakeholders
  • Ensure timely project completion and compliance with WHS policies
  • Attend handover inspections at practical completion
  • Achieve financial close-out of each refurbishment within 30 days of practical completion
  • Maintain up-to-date reporting tools and manage key relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Provide reports to the Head of Capital Works, including program and budget updates

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in relevant building discipline (construction, engineering, or architecture)
  • Project Management Certificate (PMBOK, Prince2) or equivalent
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational and contract administration skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project software
  • Experience in delivering commercial refurbishment projects
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Program development, implementation, and monitoring

Even better

  • Previous experience in roll-out project delivery roles
  • Previous experience in delivering minor capital works projects in live environments
  • Sound understanding of the Dynamics 365 system
