About the Role

This role is full-time contract opportunity until June 30, 2025, and will be based in Dubbo with possible extension.

Uniting’s Youth First program is a targeted prevention and early intervention service available for young people aged 10-24 who are experiencing, or at risk of, disadvantage and vulnerability.

In this role, you will provide targeted early intervention services to support and help vulnerable young people.

Our responsive team engages young people in a targeted program that’s designed to build personal, family and community resilience. We work closely with schools, community partners, young people and families. 

What you need to succeed:

  • Qualification at diploma level or above in Social Work, Psychology or relevant discipline with casework experience with children, adolescents and families.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive, honest and productive relationships with young people to develop, support and plan support and follow up
  • Confidence to be trained to deliver evidence-based group work and in large school settings
  • Ability to provide effective assessment and referral for a variety of issues and facilitate young people’s access to services
  • Ability to contribute to program development and evaluation
  • Excellent communication written and verbal and conflict resolution skills
  • Good record keeping
  • Must hold a current NSW WWCC and Drivers licence
