The Aboriginal Recruitment Community Coordinator plays a vital role in implementing strategies to attract, engage, recruit, and retain Aboriginal talent. This position is integral in raising awareness about career opportunities, showcasing the value of VACCA’s services and programs, and fostering connections with VACCA’s regional offices to develop and execute tailored employment strategies.
In this role, you will actively engage with communities by participating in events, promoting VACCA as an employer of choice, and supporting Aboriginal candidates throughout their employment journey—from identifying suitable roles to assisting with the application process. A strong focus on communication and marketing will be key to attracting and retaining talented individuals while enhancing VACCA’s reputation as a welcoming and inclusive organisation.
The Aboriginal Recruitment Community Coordinator works closely with Recruitment Advisors, the Organisational Development (OD) Manager, and the OD Coordinator to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to recruitment. Additionally, this role supports new Aboriginal staff upon commencement, contributing to their successful integration and long-term engagement with VACCA.

This role drives VACCA's Aboriginal Recruitment strategy by actively engaging with communities, promoting VACCA as an employer of choice, and supporting Aboriginal applicants throughout their employment journey. Key responsibilities include managing the Aboriginal Talent Pool, collaborating with schools and universities to build employment pipelines, and leveraging online and traditional media to enhance VACCA’s employer brand. The position involves advocating for applicants, developing innovative workforce strategies, and exploring diverse employment pathways such as internships and traineeships. Additionally, the role supports regional promotional efforts, builds relationships with key stakeholders, and contributes to the growth of VACCA’s Aboriginal workforce.
