The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia. The VACCA team is committed to the organisation’s visions and values, passionately providing support, service and advocacy for our children and other vulnerable members of the community.
Our strength lies with our people.
The Koorie Women’s Diversion Case Manager plays a vital role in diverting Aboriginal women from the criminal justice system by providing intensive, culturally sensitive case management for up to eight clients. This role involves delivering tailored support, coordinating treatment, and advocating for clients while working closely with justice agencies and building referral networks to improve justice outcomes.
This role requires a strong understanding of and commitment to VACCA’s vision and values, along with an awareness of Aboriginal societies, cultures, and the key issues impacting Aboriginal communities. A deep understanding of the factors contributing to Aboriginal women’s involvement with the justice system is essential, along with knowledge of the justice system and relevant risk assessment frameworks. The candidate must have experience in case management, providing effective support to Aboriginal families, particularly women, and possess strong planning, organisational, and stakeholder engagement skills. Effective communication, conflict management, and decision-making in the best interests of children are also key components.
We strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders people to apply.
Applications should include a cover letter addressing the key selection criteria and a current resume.
We encourage applicants to view the Position Description before applying.
