About the role

VACCA Kinship Finding Program Officer role will be responsible for providing overall support to the Kinship Finding Program. The position will:

  • Maintain referral processes and actively engage DFFH staff at intake
  • Comply with relevant agency, program and legislative requirements, including case recording and data entry requirements.
  • Support the ongoing file management of a secure database containing kinship information and genealogies for Victorian Aboriginal children and young people.
  • Possess strong technical and software skills and ability to quickly learn new software and applications

  • Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose and the capacity to take a leadership role in championing these internally and externally
  • Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities
  • Written Communication provides accurate information using forms, log books, case notes, and standard templates appropriate to the task
  • Team Dynamics contributes to team discussions, problem solving and decision making in culturally respectful ways
  • Technology Uses technology and software applications effectively in relation to task requirements
