Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia, employing more than 600 employees and delivering more than 70 programs across Victoria. VACCA’s Out of Home Care (OOHC) services include kinship care and foster care. These programs have expanded rapidly in recent years due to both the growth in the numbers of Aboriginal children needing OOHC in Victoria and the transfer of OOHC placements from mainstream services to VACCA in line with the Roadmap for Reform’s Guiding Principle Five (P5). This principle aims to ensure Aboriginal self-determination around decision-making and care for Aboriginal children and families. VACCA’s OOHC programs now incorporate380 Kinship Care households and 100 Foster Care households.

As a member of the Learning & Development team you will be part of a supportive group of staff with diverse responsibilities involving contact with all areas of VACCA. You will have the opportunity to contribute the skills you’ve gained in previous roles and to build your knowledge and expertise about the diverse range of programs that VACCA delivers for Aboriginal children and families, including Cultural programs, child protection, out of home care, youth, justice and family violence
