VACCHO is the peak representative for the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Victoria.

We have 33 member Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations providing support to over 78,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the state. We lead and support Aboriginal Community Control and the broader health and social services sector to deliver transformative health and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal communities in Victoria. About the Role

The Policy Support Officer will undertake the secretariat responsibilities of the Victorian Aboriginal health and Wellbeing Partnership Forum (AHWPF), assisting team members across VACCHO and the Department of Health to organise AHWPF events and working groups, and implementation of the AHWPF Action Plan. The Policy Support Officer will contribute to VACCHO being a strong voice for Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and influencing policy across the range of health issue areas.

The role will also contribute to the development of meeting papers, briefs, reports and submissions and provide operational and administrative support to the team.

Essential skills/experiences

This is an entry level role in the Policy and Advocacy space, and in addition to your lived experience as an Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander, your great organisational, planning and communication skills will contribute to your success.
