This exciting role is an opportunity to take the lead in diversifying and developing new delivery models for our Nature Stewards Program. You will play a significant role in growing our reach and boosting the nature-based literacy of communities across Victoria.

About the Nature Stewards Program

Nature Stewards is a multi-week course that connects curious people with their local and wider habitats. Participants gain knowledge, learn practical skills and meet like-minded others in their local communities. They discover ways to help nature at home and through local volunteering.

Summary of Duties

  • Explore, prioritise and recommend methods for growth and diversification of the Nature Stewards program including delivery models for organisations, formal education models (schools) and interstate options
  • Undertake relevant consultation, project and partnership development and documentation in line with program and VNPA objectives
  • Explore and develop new Nature Stewards program delivery models and partnerships based on determined priorities in collaboration with VNPA staff, volunteers and program partners
  • Develop and test new methods for inclusion of diverse audiences in the Nature Stewards program including youth, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse community members and groups, people with diverse abilities, small and remote regional communities
  • Work with VNPA staff to integrate new program delivery models with VNPA organisational programs and practices including supporter development, fundraising, communications, citizen science and education programs
  • Manage stakeholder engagement and ongoing relationship building
  • Contribute to coordination and delivery of the Nature Stewards program as needed
  • Undertake regular weekend and evening work and commute long distances to program locations, with some overnight stays across Victoria
  • Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers and program stakeholders in a respectful manner
  • Promote the vision, values and mission of VNPA
  • Contribute to ensuring VNPA is a safe and healthy workplace
  • Other duties as required by Nature Stewards Coordinator/Community Learning and Engagement Manager
