Wagga Women’s Health Centre Inc. (WWHC) is a not-for-profit organisation committed to providing an alternative, feminist healthcare service run by women for women, ensuring accessibility without financial and cultural barriers to the women of Wagga Wagga and surrounding districts.
This role is an opportunity to support a range of community engagement initiatives focussed on women’s issues across Wagga Wagga and surrounds. A critical project will be the DV2650 project, delivering a suite of community-based, primary prevention activities for Domestic and Family Violence. The role will support the successful delivery of the community initiatives for the project and assist with tracking its outcomes against the delivery framework.
The role will also support the design, delivery and evaluation of various Women’s Health community programs and events for the Centre, this includes in-person representation and the opportunity to assist with workshop facilitation and education sessions.
The role will be responsible for managing the social media for the Centre across it’s Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn channels and responding to community enquiries. It may also support the ongoing updates and announcements made through the Centre’s website.
This role requires an energetic team player, who can use their community engagement and social media experience to build and strengthen the Centre’s community relationships.
You will be part of a small and flexible team of awesome women who work collaboratively to deliver client services, primary prevention projects and advocate for women’s issues. The role will report to the Community Engagement Manager and collaborate with all staff as required.
The role can be flexible to meet the needs of the right candidate and is anticipated to be the equivalent of 4-5 days a week. The role may require occasional after-hours and weekend work depending on community events, and the ideal candidate will be required to have flexibility to attend these events.
This is an initial 1-year contract with possible extension subject to funding.
Formal qualifications in a community service-related discipline and work experience in operating in government or the not-for-profit sector would be advantageous but not essential.
