At WASH House, we stand as a cornerstone resource centre for women within the Blacktown LGA, proudly serving our community for over 40 years. Our unwavering mission is to diminish the effects of poverty, social inequality, and violence, empowering the lives of women.

Services provided include information and referral, case support and case management, skill building and therapeutic groups, advocacy and various community development activities.

ABOUT YOU

You are a highly motivated woman driven by feminist principles and a deep passion for empowering other women. With exceptional communication skills and a strong sense of empathy, you connect easily with individuals and groups. Your experience in delivering impactful training programs, along with your talent for building relationships and networking within the community, will enable you to inspire and uplift those around you.

Essential CRITERIA

  • Relevant Qualifications in community development, youth work, or other related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience of minimum 2 years’ in community development/ project management;
  • Demonstrated high level communication and negotiation skills including ability to produce written reports and presentations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in project/program management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in developing, implementing, reviewing, and evaluating community development programs and initiatives for young people, particularly young women.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain successful partnerships with relevant partners including government and non-government organisations and community based organisations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team.
  • Superior computer skills, including the ability to create graphic and text content for the development of quality information and promotional materials fit for a range of purposes;
  • Experience and confidence using social media, multimedia and audio visual equipment;
  • Knowledge and understanding of social policy and issues that face women and girls.
  • Knowledge and/ or experience in Domestic and Family Violence/ healthy relationships.
  • Conceptual skills, with sound analytical and problem solving ability;
  • Current driver’s licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in / existing connections within Blacktown LGA
  • Experience in working with schools and delivering school programs.
  • Experience in delivering activities within the Communities for Children program.
