We currently support over 300 people living with disabilities across our 2 sites, Notting Hill, and Hallam. We have employment opportunities in packaging, assembly, warehouse, gardening, catering. Providing innovative and meaningful employment for people living with a disability in a supported work environment.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual who has leadership and management experience within OHS practices and RTW.

About the Role.

The Senior OHS role is part-time consisting of 22.8 hours (actual days can be negotiated with successful candidate) incorporating all facets of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Return to Work (RTW) Coordination. Promoting a safe working environment and the well-being of Waverley.

This role will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety policies, coordinating effective return to work programs, and other duties as required.

Key Aspects of the Role:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a robust OH&S Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Monitor and evaluate OH&S processes to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Coordinate RTW programs, including liaising with healthcare providers, employees, and management to facilitate effective and timely returns to work.
  • Promote a culture of safety throughout the organisation.
  • Uphold values towards employee well-being and positive growth.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance OH&S performance and quality.

The ideal candidate:

  • Relevant qualifications in OH&S, or related field, & Certified in Return-to-Work Coordination
  • Prior experience within a Senior / leadership role.
  • Orientation towards continual learning to keep up with changing standards, best practice, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Leading and driving of initiatives to promote and maintain a safe workplace, through a consultative and collaborative approach.
  • Experience working within Not-for-Profit Sector and Disability services.
