Women’s Health Matters are recruiting for a Gender Equity Project Officer to support the operations of several projects dedicated to advancing gender equity in the ACT.

This is a full-time role based in our office in Pearce, with some working from home flexibility. We will also consider less hours (with a minimum of 22.5 hours per week). The role is fixed-term until 30 September 2025. 

ABOUT US

Women’s Health Matters (WHM) is the voice for women’s health and wellbeing in the ACT.

We are an independent community organisation that works to improve the health and wellbeing of anyone who identifies as a woman in the ACT and surrounding region, especially those experiencing disadvantage, marginalisation and discrimination.

Our core business is evidence-based social research, policy development, advocacy and health promotion. We identify current and emerging health and wellbeing issues impacting all women in the ACT and surrounding region and develop evidence-based solutions to close the gaps.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Working under general direction from the Violence Prevention Coordinator, the Gender Equity Project Officer will provide day-to-day operational support for the development, implementation and evaluation of several key projects. Responsibilities will include:

  • Scheduling, documentation, coordination and evaluation of events and activities.
  • Plan, research and develop frameworks, policies, guidelines, and other resources that support delivery of key project outcomes.
  • Plan, coordinate, implement and administer project operations, including financial management and reporting and assisting with the preparation of project budgets.
  • Plan, research and develop policy submissions.
