Women’s Health Matters (WHM) is an independent, non-partisan community organisation that works to improve the health and wellbeing of women in the ACT and surrounding region, especially those experiencing disadvantage and discrimination.
WHM’s core business is evidence-based social research, policy development, advocacy and health promotion. We identify current and emerging health and wellbeing issues impacting all women in the ACT and surrounding region and develop evidence-based solutions to close the gaps.
WHM is the voice for women’s health and wellbeing in the ACT. Our local research, evidence and data (informed by women for women) is used by decision makers to be more responsive to the needs of women and to improve the health and wellbeing of women in the ACT.
We are recruiting for a Lived Experience Program Officer to support implementation of the Victim Survivor Voice pilot. The Victim Survivor Voice pilot will trial a peer-led approach to engaging with people with lived experience of domestic, family and sexual violence to inform improved services and systems in the ACT and region.
Reporting directly to the Violence Prevention Coordinator, the primary objective of the Lived Experience Program Officer will be to facilitate peer-led engagement with adults with lived and living experience of domestic, family and sexual violence in the ACT to guide work on priority reform areas.

This role is for a person with lived or living experience of any form of domestic, family or sexual violence. We strongly encourage applications from people with intersecting experiences of disability, coercive control and/or sexual violence. We will never ask you to disclose any details or information about your lived or living experience.
This is a fixed term contract until 30 June 2025 for 22.5 hours a week (0.6FTE) at SCHaDS Award Level 5.1.
