About the role

We are currently offering a 6 month contract opportunity for a Team Leader, Tenancy Services. This position is a valued member of the WHC Senior Management Team and reports directly to the Housing Services Manager. You will be responsible for leading a high performing Tenancy Services team to ensure they deliver exceptional tenancy and customer service that results in tenants sustaining their tenancy and improving personal outcomes.

The successful candidate is an experienced team leader committed to excellent customer service, successful program delivery, staff development, and collaboration whilst ensuring every effort is made to support successful Client tenancies.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead an experienced tenancy services team of 7, focused on delivering services that meet the evolving needs of clients to achieve quality client outcomes
  • Assist with the development and implementation of the business and operational plans and related activities
  • Managing adherence to customer service standards and relevant policies and procedures
  • Proficiently manage NCAT applications, hearings, outcomes, tenancy complaints and appeals to effective resolution
  • Support the Housing Services Manager to meet WHC compliance and legislative requirements by coordinating accurate data recording and timely program reporting such as risks and tenancy related KPIs
  • Judiciously ensure the Tenancy Services Team meets its financial goals and targets through the effective management of rent reviews, rent assessments, rent and non-rent arrears and former tenant debt, vacancies and voids to meet or exceed program KPI’s
  • Ensure the WHC offers high quality housing to its tenants by regularly reviewing the portfolio structure and distribution across the team and managing adherence to the tenant home visit schedule
  • Support the continuous improvement and development of services offered to tenants by maintaining strategic partnerships with support providers and other internal and external key stakeholders and promoting and/or implementing initiatives that support sustainable tenancies
  • Actively contribute to the organisation achieving tenant satisfaction benchmarks

Essential criteria

  • Tertiary qualification/s in Social Housing or similar
  • Demonstrated experience in staff leadership, mentoring and guidance
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • In depth experience in tenancy management and a thorough knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act and social housing policy and framework
  • Intermediate skills in all Microsoft Office applications
  • NSW Driver’s license
  • Mandatory National Criminal History Check
