About the role:

As the full-time WHS Manager, you will responsible for leading and managing all aspects of Work Health and Safety for Windgap. This role is vital in ensuring that the Windgap meets its legislative requirements and promotes a safe working environment for all employees, participants, employees and visitors.

This position will be based in Banksmeadow with the opportunity for some remote work.

Key tasks will include:

  • Maintaining, and ongoing review, of Windgap’s workplace health and safety management system;
  • Assisting Windgap to reduce its risk in all areas of Workplace Health and Safety;
  • First point of contact for the provision of advice and support to Windgap employees and management on all WHS matters;
  • Scheduling and chairing the WHS Committee Meetings;
  • Monitoring, recording and investigating all Incident, Accident, Hazard and near miss reports;
  • Developing and coordinating all WHS training programs;
  • Identifying and developing strategies to address emerging injury and incident trends;
  • Return to Work Coordinator - Management of any work place injuries that result in workers compensation claims focusing on early recovery and viable return to work;
  • Striving towards a zero injuries, zero lost time work place protocol.

What you need to succeed?

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • A strong commitment to inclusion of people with disabilities within the community;
  • Tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety or a related field;
  • Proven experience with 5+years in a WHS position;
  • Expert knowledge of WH&S legislation, regulations, codes and standards;
  • A thorough conceptual understanding of risk management principles;
  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence capability at all stakeholder levels;
  • Current NSW driver’s licence.

Desirable:

  • A certified and experienced Return to Work Coordinator;
  • Experience delivering manual handling training and other similar training programs;
  • Previous experience in the conducting and coordination of audits;
  • Knowledge and experience working across the NDIS and in the Disability Sector; familiarity with relevant legislation

Remuneration

$110,000 + Super + Salary Packaging
