About the role

Women's Legal Service (SA) is seeking to appoint two Mid-Tier or Senior Solicitors on a contract basis to provide legal services from our Port Pirie, Whyalla or Mount Gambier offices. You will play a crucial role in supporting women and families in need across regional South Australia.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide legal advice and representation to clients across a range of family law, domestic violence, child protection and other matters
  • Engage in community legal education and outreach to raise awareness of legal rights and services
  • Collaborate with other service providers to deliver holistic support to vulnerable clients
  • Contribute to policy and law reform initiatives to improve outcomes for women and children
  • Supervise and mentor junior lawyers and paralegals as required
  • Admitted as a solicitor in South Australia with 3+ years' post-admission experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in family law, child protection, domestic violence and other areas of community law
  • Excellent client service skills, with the ability to compassionately support vulnerable clients
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders
  • Commitment to social justice and improving access to legal services for disadvantaged communities
  • Willingness to travel to regional locations and work flexibly as required
