About The Program

Opportunity Pathways Social Impact Investment (OP-SII) is funded by Department of Communities and Justice. It is a voluntary and non-obligational employment program that aims to improve the training, education and employment outcomes of Social Housing Clients leading to greater housing independence where appropriate. The Workplace Mentor role provides a strength-based approach, case management and wrap-around supports for program participants to achieve their individual training, employment and housing goals.

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, along with letter of Aboriginality
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and issues; particularly those issues affected by social housing matters
  • Experience in community engagement activities with Aboriginal communities and organisations, gaining outcomes and mutual benefits
  • Certificate IV or equivalent and/or experience in the following: Employment Services,Community Services, Healthcare Services, Youth or Disability Services
  • Demonstrated experience in working with clients with social and complex needs
  • Demonstrated experience achieving contractual and organisational KPIs
  • Excellent time management and negotiation skills
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft and Client Management applications
  • Demonstrated experience with written and verbal communication skills
