The Finance Officer role is to ensure accurate payroll processing, manage accounts payable and receivable transactions including staff reimbursements and card claims and reconciliation of relevant balance sheet accounts.

This is a part-time position, offering 60.8 hours per fortnight.

ABOUT THIS ROLE:

Key Responsibilities:

  • End to end payroll processing ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
  • Interpreting and applying the SCHADS award to accurately calculate wages, penalties, and entitlements.
  • Issue invoices and ensure payment of accounts
  • Managing the [email protected] shared mailbox
  • Directing supplier invoices to ProSpend and managing all claims in ProSpend and MYOB through to payment in the Bank
  • Liaising with and responding to supplier queries
  • Maintaining users and workflows in ProSpend
  • Assisting staff with all payroll, accounts and expense reimbursement enquiries
  • Bank reconciliations in MYOB AccountRight (desktop and browser versions)
  • Assist the Accountant or Finance Manager with other statutory requirements on behalf of WLSQ as required e.g. PAYG, superannuation or QLeave return
  • Contribute to a collaborative team culture for staff and volunteers which is professional, productive, supportive and consistent with the WLSQ values and feminist principles.
  • Any other tasks as directed by the Finance Manager

MANDATORY REQUIREMENT:

  • Financial and payroll systems experience (knowledge of MYOB and Employment Hero preferred)
  • Experience in Award to Payroll interpretation.
  • Good Excel skills
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work and liaise with staff and managers at all levels of the organisation
  • This role requires the incumbent to have a clear National Police Check and to obtain a blue card.

SELECTION CRITERIA / SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES:

  • Ability to foster professional and respectful relationships with different stakeholders.
  • Well-developed and effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of financial management and accounting systems in accordance with GST legislation and Australian Accounting Standards.
  • Highly developed self-management skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multi-discipline team.

EMPLOYEE WELLBEING:

The work performed by WLSQ involves providing legal and social support services to women and their children impacted by Domestic and Family Violence and / or Sexual Violence. All staff employed by WLSQ will be privy to or will take part in conversations with people who have experienced traumatic situations, and it is likely some of our clients may still be experiencing the effects of trauma. In addition to the regular and comprehensive training and support provided by WLSQ, the person performing this role will have to be mindful of their personal wellbeing and employ strategies to minimise impacts (if any) on their wellbeing.
