THE ROLE

The Migrant Women's Support Program (MWSP) provides specialist domestic and family violence services and support to culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) women and their children.

WSSSA is seeking a Team Leader to provide leadership, guidance, support and consultation to the MWSP team to ensure quality outcomes for their clients.

This is a full-time position initially offered on a fixed term basis until June 2026 based at the WSSSA Head Office in Mile End.

ABOUT YOU

The successful applicant will require leadership experience in a domestic violence setting, particularly in provision of services to CALD women and children. To succeed in this exciting and demanding role you will also need:

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Social Sciences, Community Services or related, and/or experience commensurate with the position;
  • Significant experience in the provision of case management responses and crisis interventions for CALD people impacted by domestic and family violence;
  • Ability to motivate and facilitate a high level of individual and team performance by providing positive leadership, management and supervision;
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage complex caseloads and to negotiate successful outcomes for clients;
  • Knowledge and understanding of social, political and geographical issues and the impact on CALD people experiencing domestic and family violence. Including the impact of immigration, culture, racism, war and intergenerational trauma on CALD people who have experienced DFV;
  • A current drivers licence, and be eligible for, or hold a DHS Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance.
